One of Hubpages most acclaimed contributors seems to be missing.
Followed by over 1,400 readers, Tatjana Mihaela from Zadar, Croatia, is one of the most loved writers we have here on Hubpages. She’s probably the most intelligent, all around human being I know and at 70 years old, I’ve known a lot of smart people.
I could write pages about her greatness but that’s not what this hub is all about. If you don’t know, read some of her stuff and I guarantee you, you’ll be her next “follower.”
Be sure to read her last page on Government protests in Croatia. It explains everything, then come back here and leave a comment so we know how many of you Hubbers are willing to help if it turns out she needs us.

To my knowledge, she has disappeared from all that she was involved in on the net including Hubpages. It’s been quite a while since she last published anything and that is not like her at all.
It seems her country, Croatia, has been over-run by Mafia type political leaders and living for the common person has become a life threatening experience. Learning of her intent to do what she could about her countries unrest, I warned her many times, just simply to be careful. People like that don’t fool around.
Undaunted, she became politically active as you can see in one picture of her on a podium giving a speech, and another leading a street rally with a megaphone. All this was about the time she dropped out from Hubpages and everything else.
I could be totally wrong, she could be on vacation somewhere but I really doubt it because I know her for one, and second, I can add, and it looks to me she’s met with some dastardly mishap like being jailed perhaps or worse. I fully intend to find out one-way or the other. In the event she has been jailed as a political prisoner we here at Hubpages might just be able to help her with the collective power of the all mighty pen.
Let’s first see if any of you Hubbers know anything more than I do.
Believe me, if anyone is worth helping, its Tatjana Mihaela. She lives to help other people.

This is just the first step, just to see if I’m some dribbling old man worrying about nothing or not. In the event no one knows anything more than I do, organization, then contact with the Croatian Government is next.

I just wrote a note to the Hubpages editors 1/18/12 asking them to post this issue and address here in the Hubpages newsletter so we can get as many thinking brains in on this quest as fast as possible. Who knows? I'm sure there's hubbers out there that could solve this mystery is days or faster. I'm just a 70 year old electronics tech with very little knowledge of Croatia or anything else along those lines but I'll be damed if I'm going to let a great human being like Tatjana dissapear without knowing why and whatever I can do to get her back in the Hubbers fold.

Have you tried Google image searching her pictures? She may have other accounts out there that may have some more info.
I am going to put some research into this. Liberty and those willing to defend it must be supported.
Tatjana told me about a year ago she was not writing hubs as she was busy with her political activities and didn't have time to post in Facebook. She is someone I care for very much, respect her and consider her a spiritual friend. I know however, that it's dangerous to get into political activities, but I thought she was simply busy and hope I am correct. I will keep her in my prayers.
I emailed her in Facebook and mentioned you by name and told her you are concerned about her. I will let you know if she responds.

I thought the same thing Violet and it's not the first time she was too busy to work her internet connections. We all have our on and off times but Tatjana's been gone way to long to assume that I believe.
I'm glad you know and care about her as well as you do that makes me feel a litle less of a nut case for starting this whole thing.

Craig, I emailed her again today to her Yahoo account as she hardly checks her Facebook account even on good days. I am sorry I didn't keep her offline mail address as I had hired her services two years ago, but I never thought I would need it. Let me know how I can help and do share what you find out. I think most care, I know I do, she is a beautiful soul. Most of us do not know how to deal with communication with a foreign country, especially in the midst of civil turmoil, so I suspect it's the reason for the silence from others.
Things should be showing some progress here shortly Violet. I'm hoping the Hubpages editors do a piece on our plight in the weekly news letter. That should bring tons of people ready to assist.
What you can do in the meantime is talk this quest up on different forums like where you found me in the first place. I'm not to familure with that side of Hubpages. Getting to all the folks on Hupages without a major marketing ability is a big chore. I believe thousands would come forward if they knew but how to get to enough Hubbers?
I have Tatjana's phone number on an old hard drive that won't boot up but that's a couple years old and she since moved to the island.
With help from you guys, we'll find her alright. That will be the easy part. Getting her out of the hooscow if that's where she is, will be another story. We could make them wish they never heqard the name Tatjana but we gotta find her first. She could even be dead for Christ sake. You know what's going on in ther middle east, people in power like in her country don't give a rats ass who they kill and believe me if you rock the boat like I'm 100% sure Tatjana already has knowing her, well, lets hope she's at least OK. We've got Croatian organizations, the US government, The United Nations, and tons of other organizations like the Red Cross to help if she has been incarcerated but like I said, we have to find her first.

By the way, I took her advice last year as well. I had a regular mole under one eye and an ugly fast growing skintag type mole under the other. I took Tatjana's advice and bought two different bottles of holistic oils. In three months both moles were completely gone with out even a trace. Of course I smelled like road kill for a while but what the hell. She thought that was pretty funny. LOL!
I meant to say, "I will see what I can do"... Wow, that's great you responded well to her remedies! She does know what she is doing. Guess it paid off to be stinky for a while. LOL.

I contacted a friend of Tatjana's in Facebook who looks like a priest and who lives in Croatia. I inquired about Tatjana. He seems to speak English though most of his posts are in his language. He responded today by requesting that we be friends, and which I accepted. I assume he did this so he can see who I am as my FB settings are not public, but the priest's are. Let's see if he replies to my email inquiry. If not, I will look for other friends who live in her country and contact them. I figure they know her in person so it's a better shot at getting information.
Craig, My comment disappeared. Odd. I will retype again: I contacted a FB of hers who seems to be a priest and who lives in Croatia and seems to speak English and inquired about Tatjana. He responded with a Facebook friend request, and I assume it is so he knows who I am as my settings in FB are set to private. I am hoping he replies. If not then I will contact her FB friends who live in Yugoslavia, as I figure they know her in person and we have a chance for better information.

I would think her boyfriend would know everything that has happened.I can go back in our conversations and get his first name if you need it. OK troops, here's the latest on my end. I called Amnesty International in NYC this morning and was directed to the original founders main organization in London."Peter Benerson House". This is where all the "case work" is done from. First, they have to determine if she really is missing and not cooling it on a beach in the Bahamas or something. (She better not be or when I get done with her, she's gonna wish she was in the hooscow) LOL
Anyway, I've emailed them and I'll be calling them as well. Gotta get an internation time clock on my puter first. We're getting close, keep up your good work, concern, and great advice.
So far we've got a Croatian speaking lady willing to help, contacts with a priest and others in Croatia and other possible leads but the one thing that might really give up instant help is if any of you know her current address or phone number on the island she moved to last year or so. Her boyfriend may still be there and surely, he would know her status...Thanks again....
Tatjana Mihaela is one of my favorites too. In fact we wrote on many similar topics too. But I did not know that she was involved in politics. In FB also I am not seeing any activity from her. I hope she is safe and we will hear from her soon.

We're getting there snakeslane. Amnesty International will be on the case tomorrow. They're case working people are in Londona and London is 5 hours ahead of us which right now makes it about 8PM there.

I am a member in a prestigous Hub or blog site called Hubpages.com.
One of our most beloved contributors has gone missing ever since she became involved in activly protesting the current so-called corrupt government in her home state Croatia.
We all fear she's been arrested or worse as a result of her protests. No one has heard from her in any of her vast internet venues from a minimum of at least six months to a year. Totally unlike anything she would even think of doing.
I've set up a web site to coorinate her friends and co-authors in order to at least find her and if she is in prison, do what ever it takes to free her. We have made some progress in securing a Croatian interperter and even a priest that lives in Croatia but nothing concrete as yet as to her whereabouts.

Tatjana has thousands of loyal friends there that are willing to do what ever it takes to find and perhaps help her.

Here's another update from "Team Hubpages".
If you recall I asked them to include our search for Tatjana in the weekly newsletter in hopes of getting the word out to as many hubbers as possible. I didn't expect them to divuldge any private information of course but now that they mentioned it, they should have her current address and phone number.
As you will read, they promised to look into it which is great news.

Craig, This made my eyes wet. The Hubpages team are a group of vital, young people and they will think of something without compromising her personal information or Hubpages. I made a post in the forum as I need my email in Croatian so I can contact the priest again. He may not speak English as I thought. There is some hope as he friended me in Facebook in response to my email inquiry. Point being, he did not ignore me. :)

Hey, You seem to know Tatjana better than anyone and all this typing which I do at a breakneck 20 words a minute with mistakes is not very efficient when I could be writing to presidents and other organizations. I just emailed the US Embassy in Croatia who by the way is very aware of the street protests Tatjana was involved in.

I wrote Tatjana several times and have not received any response. I admire and adore her. Let me know if I can help, I am on your side with her. Can you contact the news media in Croatia? How about ABC nightly news? I am thinking deeply now.
Marie...No amount of money can buy a good laugh and a smile and what better could you give to a friend than that. Thats why I'm always screwing around with people. It's fun and that's what I Doo. Just a reminder...For now at least, be careful who you badmouth the current Croatian government too until we get some knowing advice. I wouldn't want anything we do or say to cause Tatjana more hardship or worse than she's already enduring. That's why I've avoided contacting the government directly thus far.

However, why don't you try to find a Croatian paper thats obviously and totally against the corrupt government. As far as I know, Tatjana has never been involved in political protests at this level either. During the war in Croatia, she worked for the United Nations as a peacekeeper for two years but you know Tatjana, She's always got something going but this time, she's got us all scared and wondering what has happened to her.
If you hear from her or anything about where she has been for the last year or so, Please let us know. No one has heard from her in a very long time.

It's true...
All 1,427 of her followers are listed on her main hub with workable links. Can you think of a way we can contact them all with one stroke of the keyboard or Doo we have to contact them one at a time. I can barely keep up answering everyone and following new ideas as it is.
Hell, if we can get our message out to all of them, somebody has got to know something. I would imagine she'e got followers there in Croatia as well.
Let me know what all of you think ASAP. This may be a major breakthrough...
I am not sure if I can be of any help, but if I can do let me know. I think a great deal of Tatjana, and would not want to sit by and do nothing if she was locked up somewhere as a result of her political activities which were intended to make her country a better place for the citizens.
Craig, The only way I see that it can be done is by individual email as the email address is not visible. Not all followers that follow are active or know the writer. The best way is via the Hubpages newsletter, promoting your hub on Tatjana so it reaches the entire community. Don't let me discourage your idea if you think it's workable...

Many projects today to try from all your cool suggestions. But, I still think if we can send an email to each of Tatjana's 1,427 followers, especially the one's in Croatia, something would have to show up positive.
Here's what I would like to try. It would take one person working steady at least 24 hours to email all 1,427 even with a standard (pasted), standard message.
The only consistancy in Hubpage followers lists is that there is about 20 followers per numbered page which is a way to assign say pages 1,2,and 3 and then 4,5, and 6 to different helpers to email a copy of a standard letter we compose.
We should be able to reach everyone on her list in one day.
The letter would direct everyone to Tatjana's hub we set up to learn of her plight and also ask for any current information they might have.
The person sending say pages one through three would also be responcible for answering any responses and coordinating positive results on our Tatjana hub. Piece of cake....
What say you guys, I think it would work and I could have the stardard letter done in a flash.

Let us know here what you have going and any leads you get from the Facebook thing. We must stay coordinated for obvious reasons. A small idea from you for instance may turn out to be a large idea from one of the rest of us or vice versa.

My time for such an undertaking is tied up right now with proof reading 3 books for my Step Father and with other projects. I have however tried posting a comment on Tatjana's FB wall asking for her or any of her friends who know her whereabouts to post here on this hub (and I have placed a link to it in the comment). I have also tried emailing her on both the email addresses she lists in her contact info on FB, basically asking her to post here on this hub and let us know she is okay. Not sure if this will help, but you never know. I have also posted this hub on my own FB wall by sharing it.

Golly, I did just post another comment here, but it has vanished, and I don't think this thread is set to pre-approval of comments! Anyway, essentially what I said was that I had also posted on Tatjana's FB Wall in the hope that someone who knew her might see the post and come here to leave a comment. There did not seem to be anyone else who had posted before me on her wall asking where she was, or guiding anyone that knew her here, so maybe that will generate a result from a non-Hubber or a friend who know her whereabouts. All posts have to be approved by you one way or another Craig, but you can change the settings in a Hub's comments box to say whether or not you want the comments to appear immediately, or only after you have approved them. I think this hub is set to show them immediately even if you have not yet approved them as my last comment appeared immediately, and I see the other one has now appeared too. Weird why the first one didn't show up before though.
That would help a lot. Where's the settings button?

She became involved in protesting her Croatian, mafia style, oppressive government about the same time she apparently disappeared and thousand of her friends from Hubpages .com fear she has been jailed simply trying to help her own people literally survive.

Cris A is longtime hubber who was very artistic, and was a kind man, and passed away suddenly at age 33 from diabetes. He was taking good care of himself, had stopped smoking and was enjoying life. We had no clue he was not well so it was shocking for all of us.
BTW, I meant to say, that I wrote a hub about Tatjana's situation with links to yours and it will reach my 1,000 plus followers. :) I am however emailing ALL her Croatian friends in Facebook as the three I emailed did not respond. Geese, they probably know her personally. Oh, well.

I know all about diabetes. I lost my dad and my brother because of diabetes. It's an incidious desease that eventually effects every organ in your body. That's unusual though at 33 if he was following the rules.My father didn't have a chance. They knew nothing about the deseae back then. My brother learned everything there was to know, even more than his doctors and managed to live with it for 35 years.
Did I mention, I think we have Tatjana's phone number? WriteAngled found it. I'll be calling shortly. It's already four in the afternoon over there.

The settings for your comments capsule can be found when you are in edit mode in a hub Craig. Go down to the comments capsule, click edit, and then tick the box you prefer before saving again. You can either do this on a hub by hub basis, or set the whole of your hubs to the setting you prefer (although the latter you do in your account, comments and 'Global Comments Capsule Settings'. Click edit and adjust as required if I recall correctly). I have all my hubs set now so that comments do not appear until they are approved, but only because I got a few problems on certain controversial hubs with nasty comments being in full sight for all to read until I next checked in and deleted them. I also got fed up of SPAM posts being visible in the same way, so this avoids that problem.
Well done with the Tatjana efforts so far. It sounds really promising that we might soon find a solution to the mystery as to what has happened to her. I will say my prayers.

Tatiana and I, like many other Croats, are disappointed with the referendum outcome, as we believe Croatia would be better off independent from the EU, and we are convinced that both the EU and Croatian politicians manipulated the whole nation into joining the EU.
That's why I guess Tatiana is preoccupied with commenting this current issue (we exchanged a couple of comments earlier today), and perhaps even planning a follow-up.
BTW, I lived in Oklahoma for a year as a foreign exchange student, but never visited Oregon.

I'm afraid I don't know her. How could she be helpful and what do you think about Tatjana being in hideing from political thugs. What a great potential explanation of why she hasn't contacted anyone. She can't if thats the case but she could reading everything we've written about her in the last two weeks. Then again, how could we help her in a situation like that? The plot thickens. I found a site that lists hundreds of Croatian churches by state with all the numbers and emails.
Being in New Jersey, I had to choose them in Califirnia due to the late hour.
I spoke to Father Ivan Gerovec from the Croatial Catholic Mission Church in San Pedro, California for some time explaining our dilemma.
First, he contended that there was a new government in Croatia that is very much against corruption and that no one would ever be arrested for simple protesting.
Do any of you know when this "new" government was put in place? Let me know please.
Anyway, he asked for her website which I gave him, but he then got a phone call he had to answer. He said he would look into it and for me to call him back tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to direct him to our "where are you" page but I will if he joins our bandwagon. He' 100% Croatian, speaks the language and it seems like he's in tough with current conditions.
I made it very clear that all we wish to do is find out if she's ok and help her if she's not.
I'll let you know if he can help or not tomorrow and what he suggests we do.Seems like a nice, patient, older gent I'm a nice, older gent too but not very patient, LOL

Well, it's 2pm here, 8 pm in Croatia, and I guess 11am by you. Where do we stand. I don't guess you've heard anything yet. If you wish, give me Goran's email or phone number or any info and I'll try to find them myself as well. I'll try to be polite but demanding at the same time. It doesn't look like your going to hear from him of Tatjana which is another mystery. Just what we needed. We still don't know if she's safe or not and that's very unsettling to me at this point.
I'm ready to kick ass and take names, from our president, right on down the line from 2 dozen Croatian priests, to all the big agencies, and right down to a Croatian detective that's been offered.
As far as I know she could still be in big trouble and being from the fifties, we respected.and took care of, and protected our lady friends back then. No-one is going to change me and I won't and can't rest until I know she's safe. Talk to me.

Alright now I am in a must need to know after all this reading, Craig if there is a hub humanitarian award you got it. There is other ways to cyber trail certain activity if she is using the internet for anything.....All the info is out there...You just need to know how to grab it...Although any one could be using the address registered or she could be using a proxy block. At any rate, I hope you can find the answer soon, and if you want to know how to do this I can give some info on it. Hope she is safe and just needing to regroup her situation.

Yes Jenubouka...That would be some interesting information. I'm not totally convinced that she's just forgotten about a couple thousand people that love her for what she is and does so if there'e the slighest chance she still may be in trouble, I want to know.

Sounds like really good news Craig, I just hope the message was actually sent by Tatjana herself. It is hard to know with so little information included in the message. Hopefully she will visit here and leave us more information as to where she has been and how she is etc, then we will be able to totally relax and know it is her for certain. For this reason I recommend leaving this thread up and running until then.
You might want to delete or flag as spam the post above your most recent two as well. It is a spammer who has been targeting a load of my hubs with some 'powerful spells' email address. I always flag them as spam now so that they won't show up to other people (only the author of the Hub). I believe HP blocks their IP address if it gets flagged for spam more than a few times.
I agree with your first paragraph Cindy, and you make a good point with the last paragraph as well. I'll do that. The last thing we need here is so called "powerful spells" muddying up an already confusing bunch of events.

Hey with almost 600 visitors here now, it's pretty clear to me that no one else did either.
There's no way I would have found her alone, you know that.
All good things, and bad unfortunatly, that have made change in this world since day one start in the minds of just one person. It's the people that jump on the bandwagon that usually get the job done so never look at a huge, even global problem and say to yourself like so many of us do, "Gee, what can little old me do about it?"
All of us have the power to change the world for the better if we simply take that first, infamous step in the journey of 1000 miles.

Craig, Why don't you write a hub proposing this idea? I assume there are Hubpages members who are open to the idea. It was quite an experience in seeing all talents coming together even if nothing was amiss with Tatjana, but, I observed how everyone who got involved gave of what they could contribute, be it to gather information, make calls, translate, make suggestions, etc. and how the communication was very good between everyone helping with the search effort.
I sounds fisable to me Marie. We could Doo a lot of good. Even if we fed one kid or helped one family it would be worth the effort which like I said would probably be a lot easier and a lot less pressed than when we were looking for Tatjana.
First lets get a concensus of the friendS we have here already and see what they think. That would be a good start mostly because we know eack other.
If it's a go, then I guess asking for ideas in all catagories would be next and to see who's in or out after we decide what to Doo, how to Doo it and where.

I'm sending a group email letter to the people from this effort. Many may not come back here thinking the case was closed and not comment on this new idea. Give me a day or two and I'll get back at ya with the info. I did speak to a couple of the above via email and they liked the thought as well. In the meantime,jot down any ideas you have about what you would like us to do. I believe once we got this started which wouldn't be easy, volunteers would come out of the woodwork. There were close to 650 visitors here in less than 3 weeks plus a ton on the forum and other places.
There are people in every country in this world that will literally suffer and die tonight without help from someone. You've seen the TV ads, it's pathetic. Organizing all our thoughts in every catagory I think would be a sane first step. We would also need to set up our own chatroom so say a dozen of us could talk at the same time. Write-em down and I'll get back to you soon....

As I told Craig, I don't know Tatjana. Never read her stuff. Found out Goran's last name is the same as the last name Tatjana is using now. I joined Facebook just to see if I could email her. Tatjana has no clue who I am and yet she "Friended" me. Perhaps I am suspicious by nature, especially because of the seriousness of this situation, but I find it odd that she "friended" me.
I personally think we need to find someone in Croatia who has actually seen her alive and well very very recently. But who am I to say.
I would definitely leave this hub up and running.
I also think it would be awesome if we could get a HubberAid group together. I belong to a group called AOK (Acts of Kindness) where we assist various charities and other groups with whatever they need. For example, at the Rescue Mission, we've served many a meal and made thousands of PB&J sandwiches to hand out. How this could translate to on the web help, I have no clue.
Craig: One of my ideas is to assist families to find missing children. When my co-worker, Michelle Le, went missing, I wrote 2 hubs about her, her family set up a website and we social networked. Unfortunately Michelle was found murdered, (her murderer is in jail and a trial soon to start) Through this effort we all fully realized the extreme power of the internet and how much could be accomplished with a joint effort. I met Mark Klaus (Polly Klauss's father) and I know I could get help from him too. I also know Michelle's family would help because they want to do things like this for future victim's. There are forums where we could provide input to the family of missing kids, and offer up theories and ways to help. We could write hubs about missing kids to bring attention to their plight. There are so many missing kids.....

If we could be effective enough, I have no problem with that. We don't have to stick with one project line either. Keep in mind, many of our members will be from others countries which may make that a bit difficult as we just found out. We have to gather all the ideas we can, have a meeting to determine what we're going to do and who is going to do what and when. What assets we have to work with, what assets we must get, any legal consideration and lots more. We'll need to raise money to pay for what we do and perhaps assist people but there's a hundred ways to do that and with a lot of people involved, we should be able to raise a ton for our Paypal account two of us would manage and cut checks to whomever. We got business people that could handle that side already.
Lets get the volunteers and the structure set up first, then we could discuss and knock out the set up problems easy once we know where we're going.Locating missing children is something worthy and something we may be able to do.

I am OK (never had any problems because of politics, because in this world you can speak openly, but nobody in charge is listening what one speaks, anyway. I never broke any law, (free speech is still allowed, lol) so nothing can happen to me. )
This FB profile is made exclusively for people who speak my language (it is understadable for 24 milion of people on Balkan peninsula - 4,5 million of Croats and the others who speak or understand my language.... and also to the all our people who leave abroad (several milions)
We use some other FB pages and websites on english, but - we have here the same political problems like any country - corruption, misuse of constitution and laws, rising poverty...the biggest part of the world is in the (more or less) - same situation.

Well, the last thing our government did was - we had referendum for joining EU, that was, according to opinion of legal advisors - not legal---(not enough of people joined to referendum, but they made it pass anyway)
I planned very many times to write something on HP, but honestly, I was too tired and too exchausted to write anything.
In the meantime, I also moved to the other appartment....so needed time to settle down.
This is in few words, all my story....
Here is my slightly winded responce:

Third: You and I come from two different schools and I understand that. You've personally seen more death and distruction in recent years than 1000 Americans combined not counting our military people of course. Knowing that, and the Mafia style corruption you claim your country is plagued with, believe me and I for one do, if it is as you claim, then you have a friend in the US and it's people. We are not exactally new to corruption, greedy corporations, and unjust laws. Sometimes I think the US invented all that.
When I was 19, about 150 years ago, I went to Japan and many other places and the one thing I learned is that people are the same no matter where you go. Some are vicious animals, some are thieves, some are political liers, and of course, many are just plain beautiful people like yourself wishing and working for those abused, and those in need.
Every country has the same types no matter where you go. On occation, one group will gain control over the others like you say is in your country right now or even the EU has it's hidden personal agenda's. All that's nothing new.
There is two consideration here and only two.: What to do about it and how to go about doing it.
If you are aware of political corruption for instance, like you say exists in your country at the moment and you don't do anything about it, you deserve everything you get, and you defenatly will get it. You know what I mean, your right out there on the front lines with a megaphone for months on end. We're very proud of you in that respect. That's what all "good people" should be doing.
The second consideration is exactly how you go about changing a corrupt government or even a corrupt world organization like the EU or even the United Nations.
Go about it the proper way, and the people will have thier way sooner or later. Go about it the wrong way and your're probably going to lose no matter how much effort you put into it.
It becomes a David and Golith issue then if you know what I mean.
I'm telling you this because in some ways, either you or your group have been going aboit curing your problems the wrong way. I don't know that much about your personal political activities.
I say this for at least one reason. Last week I open up one of your posst on YOUR site that has endless photo's and propaganda posters that to tell you the truth, after reading at least 300 of them, anyone at all would have to come to the conclusion that your group of activists are indeed the ones that need to be sanctioned.
Some very professional photo's and banners and some that looked like they were done by some uneducated, violent activist idiot in his attic. Most all of them Tatjana, call for unbelievable violence with again, unbelievable hate on damn near every one of them.
Maybe deserved and maybe not but let me tell you, that's not the way to go about effecting change in anything. You guys sound move violent than the Mafia government you wish to overthrow.
I know you well enough to not believe that of you personally but when you associate yourself with that violent propaganda garbage, well you tell me what you would think if you were reading about me. I actually lost count of the countries, political affiliations, global organizations, and governments that one little ad seems to hate.
I also installed a Croatian translator on my computer so I could read where you guys are coming from and for the life of me, I still have no idea. What is it you want? It's not capitolism, it's not democracy, I don't think it's socialism, what?
It might be a good idea to lay out your own political platform in depth a bit more than condeming the current government. Give your people a clean and understandable choice and they will join your cause by the train loads.
This is the bottom line hun: If you want lasting change, be relentless no doubt, but be peaceful. Deplore violence, foul language, useless and untrue propaganda, and educate your people to the changes you believe they despertly want and need. You will win in the long run. Go the violent route, well, you know how wars start and you might even win this time. But I guarantee you, not long after you've burried your dead, it won't be long before you're back at war again defending what you think you won with your first war. You know that, you've been there.
I'm all for revolution, but not with guns, fire, bombs and hate. We here in the US learned that the hard way with almost one million dead during our civil war.
Follow the great leaders you know and respect if you want change. Martin Luthor King Jr, Mahatma Ghandi, you'll get your change alright. No one can go up agianst the will of the people for long.
One more thing, PEACEFUL protests are one of the ways we have her in the US of effecting change but sometimes they get out of hand in which case the police are elected to calm them down if you will. I'm very proud of our police here in the US. And yes, we get all the violent demonstration on TV day in and day out. You can believe that, it's good for ratings.
I've lived in the USA for 70 years now and I should have a Phd at the end of my name on the subject. The USA is a huge country, of course we're going to see some government coruption and even violent demonstrations. This democracy of ours is far from perfect but then again, who's government is?
Sure, we have a bad cop once in a while but they don't last very long. Bad local police forces, bad state police, bad FBI, CIA, as far as our own lives are concerned, very rare, is there an isolated problem.
You know why? because all these peple are Americans with families, and homes they love just as we all do. They don't want corruption and violence any more than you or I do.
I have a suggestion. Next time you need a vacation, I'll do what ever I can to see to it you get a chance to visit the US. I think you might be very suprised. If your going to be a world leader one day, and you will if I have anything to say about it, your going to have to see in person what the other side lives like.
There's just one little requirement, You gotta bring some of that super Croatian soup with you. I'll even spring for your ticket and I know hundreds of Hubbers that would be glad to show you around every corner of the US. Don't forget the soup and some dumplings wouldn't hurt either... :-)

Did you read anything about using our talents gathered here and others to perhaps help to locate missing children,Help some destitute families or whatever we decide to do as a group. It wouldn't take a lot of each of our time and I'm convinced we could do a great deal of good. I have a lot of it worked out already to disguss in a group meeting on a new private chat room plus what ever we do here or on another Hub. This one is about to hit 700. There may be a limit I don't know.

You are well respected and looked up to here not to speak of your hubber knowledge and ability to get things done. Finding one child , saving one life, or helping one family become self sufficient would be worth it to me. I really believe in the "One for all and all for one" medifore.
I'd like to try to help you with your voice thing too, I haven't been to a doctor in fifty years, I've learned how to cure myself of just about anything. I got that way for a reason which I'll explain later is you wish to hear it.
Anyway, let me know what you think about this other thing and I'll get back to you with everything I know so far. It would be a pleasure to work with you again, especially this time if we could feed a starving child or well you know. People need a lot of help everywhere you go, soooo, why not.

Craig, Yes, I have been following the conversation about a group effort to do good for others, and knew intuitively that Dorsi would one of the first to be willing to participate. :) I saw her campaign in FB a while back about the missing child. I am not yet sure if I can commit with a group effort as we run a business that needs to work as it's our source of income, and have projects, but will keep reading here and by email. I do help folks but generally on my own. My interest would be helping a starving child or family get back on their feet. The more we help children, the better for the future.
I don't have a voice problem, but a hearing problem, so yes, any information you share with me that leads to well being is always welcome! I am working on healing it on my own, and also have not been to doctors in years and wish to keep it that way.

You know I was just kidding with the "for a girl" rip. When you get to be my age, our society unfortunatly disallows the kind of "fooling around" with girls the way we knew and loved and rightfully so I guess. So unfortunatly there's nothing left but words to fool around with and that I do well. It's not much of a compensation but what the hell, it beats dropping off the loop all together.

A coalition of Hubpage.com Hubbers and I recently posted a new, temporary hub in order to coordinate a search for a fantastic Croatian friend that seemed missing for at least six months. She was highly involved in protesting her current government which had her friends of many thousands, very worried about her. In two weeks, we found her alive and well through the diligent efforts of many contributors from around the world with well over a thousand visits and suggestions to our hub, facebook, twitter, other hubs, Croatian priests, and even The American Embassy in Croatia.
After Tatjana Mihaela was found, we have decided to put together an internationl coalition designed to save lives if possible, feed starving children, help destitute families get on thier feet, or even use the enormous power of our Hubpage friends to help locate missing children. If we could find a missing person way the hell over in Croatia, we should be able to find Jimmy Hoffa himself.
From our original group we have a bio-medical scientist Phd in Wales, business people, marketing people, fabulous housewives and singles from everywhere as far away as India and Austrailia, to Cindy from Guernsey, Channel Islands. All willing to help to do some good in this crazy would.
I guarantee you will meet a lot of great people that will become life long friends like Tatjana has become to many of us and if we sucseed in saving one child's life, finding a missing child, or helping a family keep it all together then I would suggest it beats the hell out of jabbering all day and night here about what you had for breakfast this morning.
With our combined talents and efforts, we could accomplish wonders. You know that and I know that.

I talked to Tatjana today on her message board while she just happened to be on it. Previously, I asked her to answer some questions we still were wondering about. We also talked about politics and things so I'll just post her answers about what she's been doing etc.
Hi Craig, very, very sorry for delay in responding, I have been in a small chaos (nothing actually bad, just - chaotic) plus, I need to get switch on english language again, not so easy after almost 1 year communication exclusively on Croatian
So, let me start answering on your questions, step by step:
1. Plan connected with house on island, cannot be realized, my boyfriend and me quit that plan 1,5 year ago. (money is one of the main reasons, economical situation is here now 10 times complicated then when we started and it is getting worse, mainly because of robery of our polititians), so we continued to leave in rented flat.
2. Several months later, I decided for me is better to live on my own. So last summer I moved to another rented flat - together with my cat.
4. I did not change my family name...... but I just don`t want that when I write about politics, everyone knows my family name. So, this is pseudonim, lol, lol....Also I don`t plan to get married.
5. Goran? OMG....He is FB friend who leaves 200 km far from place where I live. We never met in person...but we have some other friends in common, and are members of same FB groups......
Last organized activity was finished 2 - 3 weaks ago...and was connected with EU referendum.

I didn't ask what she was doing now but I will next time. I can't imagine her living in an apartment. As I told her, thats like caging up a young tiger.
She didin't seem very happy to me but that's hard to tell. Money is a problem now as a result of the government getting worse and that last year she's been doing nothing much more than trying to help her own people that are in pretty bad shape as far as I can tell.
This is just a though so far. What if we all got together say with the Helphub thing and made her our first project. We should easily be able to raise enough money to get her into someplace where she could have a garden, and do her outdoor Tatjana thing say for a year until she got back to normal. I mentioned the idea to her and she got back to me later and she was speechless about the thought alone. I think she's just now getting to understand how many people loved her when she was writing as a Hubber. There is tens of thousands or you guys out there that would be glad to help I bet.

My feeling is this -- she chose to do the political thing. While it was generous that she wanted to help her people, I for one, will not donate money for her to get out of an apartment. Too many people I know here in the United States WISH they had a place to live other than the streets or are one step from the streets. Too many children in this USA need donations of food so that they can eat over the weekend (3 Square provides thousands of bags of food every weekend to school children because of this problem). Too many children worldwide and their parents are in refugee camps because of natural and manmade disasters.
We are a worldwide group, however, count me out on this idea because she could have been making an income still. I think you should have waited for opinions before bringing it up to Tatjana. How do we even know the money would go to what we wanted it to go to vs. her political causes. There's a huge difference in helping her because she is a political prisoner or in medical need and a nicer place to live.
I will, however, let my friend know that the search is over and all is reasonable.
This is, of course, only my opinion. You may think it is cruel, but I am open to other possible projects.
Unfortunately I am inclined to agree with BakingBread on this one. I live in a small flat and am desperate for my Husband and I to have a place with our own garden as I love to grow things too, and right now have to rent land elsewhere to do so. We are saving hard to get a place of our own with a small garden, and apart from the fact we have no spare cash to donate, I would not expect other people to provide me with the funds to make my own dream come true. I think the world of Tatjana, and don't believe for a minute she would take advantage of anyone for her own gain, but if it comes to paying for someone to upgrade their living accommodation from acceptable to a higher standard, then it goes beyond being a necessity, and there are causes more needy where donations could be better spent.

I completely agree with you good buddy except I was thinking of the bigger picture when I suggested we help "T" get back on her feet and back to normal.
Most important is getting this new Hubhelp going with the backing of as many as possibe. That's no easy task if possible at all. Like everything else on the planet, every existing organization began with a vision in the mind of just one person and it was his/her job to convince others to jump on the bandwagon.
Once that happens, the sky is the limit. It was along these thoughts that I was hoping we could enlist hundreds or more Hubbers, which I'm sure we could, help Tatjana, and realize a huge operating organization at the same time almost overnight that without some sort of credible, magnetic attraction of the masses, may not ever come to fruition.
Think of all the kids we could feed with an organization backed by hundreds or even thousands of Hub members. That's the whole idea. Yet if we fail at organizing this new effort, we will be able as a huge collective of individuals, to do no good what so ever.
If the choice was between Tatjana, me, you or anyone else or a needy child, of course, the needy child would have to come first in all cases. I believe everyone on the planet is responcible for all children. We brought them into this world and it must be that we, the adults, be there for them and if we're not, like it's been, they will suffer and die like flies, like it's been since I've been around the last 150 years. There is nothing on the planet more important that I know of.
One on one help is absolutly great but unfortunalty, many more suffer and die than than there are one on one volunteers.Just one is way too many in my book.
So what can we do about that?
Enlist more volunteers, it's as simple as that.
How do we accomplish that daunting task?
Organization is the answer.Simple again.
What does it take to rally all the people and organize?
It takes a cause and a lot of marketing effort. But without a viable cause, all the marketing effort in the world won't help one bit.
You, I, and everyone else with a TV has been aware of the suffering in this world since day one. Some help a lot, but then most don't. I don't know why, out of sight, out of mind maybe, they just don't.
Here on Hubpages, Tatjana has a following of 1,427 that love her to death and that we can contact easily and convince them to help her (for a change) with what ever amount they can, in one short week. And believe me, Tatjana, although an adult, is a deserving and worthy recipient of any help we could give her which I know for a fact 99.9% of all her followers would agree with.
So!
Now we have something perfect we could rally the troops with. Something that could put thousands of Hubbers in the new organization almost over night.
Get the picture Kiddo? And beside, just supporting the effort will help a lot as well. There will be a lot of organizing to do whick doesn't cost any financial support at all.
Enter the starving children, the needy families, the lost children and moms, the childern that die every 17 seconds from malaria all the while I've been typing here trying to get enough Hubbers together to make a difference.
Looks like a win win deal to me, AND, you know Tatjana, her talents, knowledge, abilities and dedication. A person like that in the organization could do wonders. As you know, when she sets her mind to something, she gives it everything she has to give. Right this second she's working to better the lives of her own people. I suspect her boyfriend didn't share her dedication and that may have let to their breakup.
If you've got a better way to put a thousand plus Hubbers into our new Hubhelp organization almost overnight and help one of our own at the same time, I'd sure love to hear about it.
And don't think I haven't thought about you bakeing S-loads of special bread to ship out everywhere with our help...I have. LOL
Oh and as far as Tatjana misusing anything we would help her with, knowing her as I do, I really doubt that but still, just to keep things on the up and up, verificatons would be put in place if for no other reason than to see how our intervention has helped. We're human too, and to assist anyone with anything absolutly requires the giver to at least see and be aware of the result of their benevolence.

I know there isn't one of you that wouldn't help out a neighbot, a sister, a friend if there was a need. I got a flash for you guys "pulling from the Dooman's infamous lexican of knowledge and wisdom", we're ALL brothers and sisters on this planet and it's about time we realized that and started treating each other that way. We may not have much time left to change our primitive ways and beliefs.
I love gardening Craig, and I grow tonnes of vegetables every year, as well as winning trophies with them. Tatjana used to comment on my gardening articles quite often.
I agree there is absolutely nothing wrong with helping out someone who needs it, and I would do the same, the question you have to define is what qualifies as 'need', and I wouldn't really describe Tatjana as absolutely being in 'need' right now, and quite probably many of those who are her followers may be in more need. You simply can't help everyone or we would all be no better off because for every dollar we handed out, we would get one back.
I would add that whilst it often looks impressive when someone has well over 1000 followers, don't fall into the trap of thinking they all 'love' the person they follow. I have over 1400 followers, and I am pretty sure only about 30 or 40 of them actually do 'follow' me, or even care what I write or do. Huge amounts of followers only follow others in order to gain followers back (wrong I know). Many follow because they read one article they liked, it doesn't mean they will read everything you write. I think you might struggle to get even a quarter of Tatjana's followers to suddenly get involved in relocating her to a new house with a garden.

The only reason I looked into Lilith Edens hubs while I was "hub hopping" one day was her very cute and devilish look. We're now co-authors of a book being printed as I speak and a scifi thriller movie in the works.
An age old marketing tactic states that if you contact 1000 people with your ad and you still need 60% more conversions, then you simply contact 1,100 more people. It works! How many Hubbers are there all together? Millions? We couldn't possibly fall short of our goal.
The absolute bottom line here is to get hundreds or more Hubbers in the new effort. THEN, and only then can we get on with doing the good we all want to do. I can't sit here and type letters at 30 WPM to individuals all day and night. I'm an old fart remember? The net results would be diddly. We need a recognizable cause to our Hubber friends that will put us on the map in one week flat. Got a better way to do that, I'm all ears....
Hi Craig, I am politely going to bow out now, as I just can't see things the way you do. I have been in marketing and selling, and even then it was taught that for every thousand leads you put out, at best you expect three responses, out of which only one would convert to a sale!
If so many people are genuine followers of any one person, where are they now? I just don't see 1400 followers commenting here, and doubt I ever will, (lovely though it might be).
By the way, I was referring to literally 30 or 40 followers, not 30 or 40% of my 1400+ followers. Sorry, but this is the reality, otherwise Tatjana and I would be getting hundreds of comments per Hub, not just a few, or a few dozen!
People here are largely writing for a living, not to join charitable causes, good or bad.Personally I have charities I support, e.g. animal charities, be it through my letter writing or the occasional donation when I have spare funds (which is rare). I just can't see how your ideal scenario is going to happen when people will find causes they feel strongly about on their own.
Like I said before, I think a lot of Tatjana, but I just see so many causes around me that are more in need than she appears to be right now, and I am sure she is a survivor who will fight for what she wants/needs in her life without our help. In fact perhaps she should be recruited for the new cause, as opposed to being a recipient of it!

If you want Tatjana's followers to be part of your organization of HubHelpers, then all she has to do is ask them to join, or put a link on every one of her publishings (which we could all do) to the HubHelp group. This doesn't mean we need to give her money to do it.
If you plan to set up a trust fund that we can donate to, with a list of causes we all think are worthy (we can set up a poll and vote on it and put them in order of votes, and 90% of monies collected in a set amount of time -- maybe two weeks -- go to that cause. It gets crossed off or put to the bottom and the next two weeks 90% of money goes to the 2nd cause. It gets crossed off/put to the bottom and on to the 3rd cause. Won't matter what country the cause is in and there would be room to insert a cause in case of a disaster happening somewhere.
The 10% withheld would be to cover the administration/legal/taxation or whatever costs.

Your trust fund paragraph sound like a workable system and although most worthy causes would cost money, there are many things we could do that would be similar to what we did with Tatjana. Help to find missing children for instance. You sound like your good at handling money and know enough to organize that end. Your hired! LOL

By the way, how much homemade bread, if you could make a profit, could you turn out in a week in your present location and how long does it last so the consummer could get it fresh? Everyone has a need for bread, that could be a damn big market and money maker.
I am not willing to be the Officerette of the Money. I only get 4 hours of sleep now and just don't have the time. Furthermore, since I am not licensed to do commercial baking, I do not have the insurance. This is my future career once my house here in Las Vegas is sold and I've gotten my house in Eugene, OR.
I work full time and am a Single Mom of an Adopted Child. There is nobody else that helps me and there is none of me left to spare at this time. I'm lucky I get to do something for Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth every few months.
Please do not volunteer or hire me! But I thank you immensely for the confidence you show in me.

Craig, I have been catching up with the comments, and your idea comes from a good place in your heart. I know that some of us, cannot join because of time and the commitment it takes to get into a project like this, however there may others that we have not met, who may have the time and commitment to get involved.
One suggestion, I have, is why not form your own foundation, by yourself? It's a start. The 16 year old daughter of one of my favorite waitresses, opened her own foundation last year to collect money during the holidays to buy presents for poor families in our town. She collected over $2,000 this past Christmas and gave gifts to 8 families, plus turkeys and canned goods so they could also enjoy a meal. She was profiled in the local paper. This young girl is an inspiration!

To tell you the truth I'm a little miffed at this whole Tatjana thing.I did and tried to do all I could for her along with many others that were truly concerned about an old friend and all this time we hardly got a lousy note from her. I don't know but I've had it. The least she could do is communicate on a semi-regular basis.
I thought of just starting the thing myself but again, I was impressed the way lots of you guys pitched in to help find Tatjana.

When I asked the waitress how did her daughter know how to go about opening a foundation, she said her girl went online and did research, and filled the paperwork. Last year she collected around $200 plus (if my memory is correct) for gifts and a meal for 3 families, and she was profiled in the local paper then. That publicity, I assume, helped her to collect more money this year.
I guess you expected more and at some level can understand, but I am okay with Tatjana's response as she did respond to your questions and sent me a little note. I suspect, emailing on a regular basis right now is not the right use of her time and energy. Perhaps, wanting to know "more" is now intrusive. I am at peace and just glad she is fine. :)
BTW, the priest emailed me two days ago, and told me he hasn't been in touch with her for months as she used to work in his church in Zagreb (sp?) and would try to find out where she is. I emailed and told him, we communicated with her and she is fine. So, he is then a priest just like I thought. What confused me, is he wears regular clothes in some pictures.
I believe this hub has served it purpose so I'll be shutting it down shortly. Tatjana seems to be alright and that's why we set this up in the first place.
There's been 837 views here and that's pretty amazing.
I've met a lot of really great people on this hub and there is no doubt in my mind we did the right thing looking for and careing for one of our own.

I have a suggestion. The idea of using our collective talents is a great one. "HubHelpers" - I LOVE IT! My thoughts here: We do not have to help people with money to even start this. I think we would be jumping into alot of red tape. Why not use "HubHelpers" to do good by using social networking to work on one cause at a time? Could you imagine the collective awesomeness of this? Writers here may not have "time" or "money" to put too much into a full fledged program, but I think you could certainly get people on board to write about causes, someone needing help - and then having us make it go viral. This could put us on the map - and start a new wave of "do-gooders" using our talents and the power of the Internet.
Look at the recent news - like that guy that got a lifesaving transplant because he used social networking to get the word out. This could be HUGE. Really HUGE.

Hi Craig - we are here for days in the middle of the snow, ice, and/or strong wind winter story that is lasting for days (what never happened for so long in this mediteranean area.) How the whole Europe looks like, in this moment you can see on Google earth.
Due to that, we have sometimes problems with connecting to the internet /or, and (thanks god very rarely) - electricity, and all other winter "pleasures" of life....

.......mediteranean area is just not prepared for such weather and change in climate, (that creates many problems because houses are built for old climate, not for this change, many pople have big problems with inadequate heating , frozen pipes etc, etc....) and people (including me) are focused (more or less) on just one thing - we just want that everything is finally over (hopefully will be in 3 days, as meteorologists say)...so we can continue to live on more normal way again...what we wait paitently, with adequate sense of humor.
So please, be so kind to apologize me if I am not able to react quickly enough. :)

P.S . what is in continental area normal in winter, here is - like disaster. PPS: Anyhow - the whole Europe is already for 9 days hit by extremely low temperatures (in many areas much lower then usual)....big amounts of snow, strong freezing cold winds ...it is not very fun for many people....and each area has its own problems because of this extreme cold weather and only rare ones now can enjoy this situation...

Hehe Craig, I must admit, while reading your Hub, you are not very good dedective :) Our government (ex one now, but new is not any better) don`t throw people in jail because of expressing freedom of speach. At least they don`t do it for now.
Anyhow I am very alive, but honestly very ecxhausted, (too much stress ). I am also very, very sad, because my country is experiencing now pure colonisation, and if this process continues as it is now, in the following decades here will be left from my people only polititians and birocracy. But as I see, it is now too much pain and chaos on this world almost everywhere.
As long as I am in this specifical type of mood, I just cannot discuss it, till I don`t find some positive solution in my own mind.

Been mostly working my young butt off. Just finishing up the interior of a room in the house we gutted and the interior of a garage. Writing the scifi book inbetween and putting together a local rock and roll band. One can do a lot when they're not chasing after crazy Croats...
Gotta get back to rock and roll. The great times I had when I was a kid couldn't be bought with a billion dollars. The equipment is getting expencive these days though. Just got a new Fender Strat w/stand, a Yamaha 66 key keybord, a wah peddle, two pro mic stands and two wireless mics, a Fender guitar amp, a set of electronic drums, and I'm waiting for an 8 track digital recorder anyday now that makes recording and mixing tracks or different instruments not only easy but super professional. No tapes or doing sound on sound like the old days.
So I'm busted for the next six or seven years, so what!
Looks like Tatjana is back in the fold. Sounds like her efforts are winding down a bit but knowing her, she'll never quit which is good. If you quit...you loose...

I got the proof from Amazon for my book, "Beyond Inspiration" Whoo hoo! The cover is beautiful as well as the design, and I accomplished what I wanted: which was to create a spiritual, companion book for daily inspiration for all paths. Have to give it the okay, and then it gets published. My next book will be a children's story which was almost accepted by Hampton Roads about 12 years ago. Have to find the manuscript.

I may be leaving Hubpages in the sense that I will unpublish most of my hubs and use my articles in my website that promotes my book. Times change and connections dwindle.
